Abstract: The rural revitalization in Zhejiang Province has been in the forefront of China, which put forward constructing the overall beauty in the whole countryside setting higher requirements and challenges for rural landscape. Ningbo's rural areas are diversified and featured. However, in the wave of urbanization, there still exist some problems, such as the destruction of local environment, the decline of rural areas, the lack of endogenous power and so on. It is urgent to put forward planning and design guidelines for Ningbo rural landscape. This paper analyzes the development process and features of Ningbo rural areas. Facing the realistic challenges of Ningbo rural areas, it takes ecological value, historical value and cultural value as the guidance, coordinates the overall to micro rural landscape elements, and puts forward three planning and design guidelines with the goal of natural beauty, traditional beauty and artistic beauty. The guideline aims to improve the rural landscape, promoting the benign relationship of 'urban rural equivalence', and realize the diversified and sustainable development of rural areas.
